30-Day Credit Terms

NAWR’s POSITION
In many states wine retailer are required to pay either wineries or wholesalers for products directly upon delivery, with no credit terms allowed by law. At the same time, in many states like this, wholesalers who sell wine to retailers and who purchase wine from wineries may buy their inventory on credit terms.

NAWR supports laws that allow 30-day credit terms for retailers along with penalties for failing to honor these terms, or at least a fair playing field where credit terms within the industry are concerned.

Allowing 30-day terms for retailer purchases of inventory provide wine retailers with much greater financial flexibility.
