—National Association of Wine Retailers Will Now Provide Its Members
With Significant Discounts on Shipping Rates and Services—
(Sacramento, CALIF)—With the rise in consumer interest in the unique wines only sold by wine retailers, wine auction houses and wine clubs, the National Association of Wine Retailers (NAWR) is pleased to announce that it will provide its members with discounts on shipping rates and services. The new NAWR member benefit goes into effect immediately for all Retailer and Associate members of the national association.
“With more and more small and medium-sized wine retailers answering the call of consumers who want to purchase wines they can’t find locally, this member benefit will be key to helping NAWR members compete profitably,” said Tom Wark, executive director of the association.
The NAWR represents wine stores, Internet wine retailers, wine clubs and wine auction houses across the country. In addition to providing member benefits, NAWR works to level the playing field for wine retailers who are often discriminated against where state wine shipping laws are concerned.
“America’s wine retailers are the primary source for consumers seeking out wine for consumption at home, including the increasing number of unique and small batch wines produced around the world and finding their way to the American marketplace,” noted Wark. “Increasingly, those consumers are using the online channels of distribution to find the wines they want, which means this new member benefit comes at an important moment in the evolution of the American wine marketplace.”
